Sex-offenders.info is a website that allows you view where registered sexual offenders work and reside. It gives additional protection to those who wish to be informed and observant of the offenders in their neighborhood, town or work place. The services of this site, such as viewing maps and looking up sex offenders are free of charge.
The service pretty much works when you encode three addresses. It may be any address that you want and care about. Whatever address you place is up to you. It may be a parent’s house, the church, the school, your child’s day care center, the park, the playground and even your own home.
It doesn’t matter where you are, whether living downtown or an upscale area. These predators are not limited or given boundary in socio-economic groups. If there are instances when an offender will move within a five mile radius from these three different addresses that you have chosen, we will eagerly take charge in notifying you as soon as possible.
Please note that our information comes from many different sources which are combined and cross referenced so we will be able to provide a wider range of coverage and possible protection. Unfortunately, our data is not complete. There are some registered offenders that are missing in our database, because we rely solely upon publicly available data. If the perpetrator happens to have moved and does not report to any authorities of the county in which they decide to settle in, then we will not know that they are no longer living in the place they used to.
If there is anyone registered in your neighborhood or in your work which no longer lives or reports there, then we will still show the same address until such time the offender registers himself in the county sheriff’s office.
You are going to have to excuse us if the little marker we have in our map appears in the wrong place. This is because we use census date in determining the offender’s address on the map. Sometimes the address can be more or less than 100 meters, that’s about one city block drawn on a map, so it not the entirely accurate—yet. Yes, for your convenience we are currently working on it, so we ask you to please bear with us.
If there are any offender’s that you know of, that is not in the database, then please feel free to contact the local sheriff or police department. This will help us in a way that sometime later the offender will reflect on our database. Also, these offenders which do not report will be charged for felony and can be returned to prison.
Please do not whatsoever make contact in terms of confronting and harassing any offenders in the registry. This service is not a tool to be used to hunt them down or run them out. Doing so is a misdemeanor punishable by law with a fine or jail time. That action alone defeats the purpose of the service, which is to solely allow the public to identify sex offender that they may come in contact with.
