During the first part of 2008, V-Soft products were used to gather information on the statistics regarding different sexually offensive crimes. According to the result, out of all the registered sex offenders that logged in and served as respondents, 73% have been convicted for crimes involving children. This is an alarming high percentage. This means that most sex offenders prefer victimizing children over adults. Most probably because children are more vulnerable and it is easy to strike fear in a child’s heart.
For this reason, every resident of Texas should do their part in order to protect the safety and innocence of all the children in their community. Every state has a law restricting the proximity a sex offender to places where most children gather. However, this only covers current and past sex offenders meaning that potential predators are safe from any restriction. Being careful with who you trust your children with is still the only way to really prevent sexually offensive crimes.
