In September 21, 1784 the first ever newspaper was daily news paper printed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I bet that paper didn’t contain news about a sex offender being brought to justice or a minor being a victim of sexual abuse. These days, news like that, although sad, is very common. This does not mean it is normal, not by a long shot! It just means that more and more unstable individuals are answering their primal urges at the expense of children.
Atrocious acts like that should never be condoned. As responsible and concerned citizens, we must do all that we can to protect our young from the hands of sex offenders. It would be wise to set up a neighborhood watch in your community to make sure kids have a safe haven from sex offenders. Children should also do their share as well. If they feel they have been violated, they should immediately seek the help of a trustworthy and responsible adult.
