Ever since I was a kid, whenever someone mentions “Oklahoma” I am reminded of the popular musical play by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. This musical romantic comedy has earned the recognition of some of the most prestigious award giving bodies. The original production was opened in 1943 and after 60 years, it was given the Special Tony Award. This piece also earned Rodgers and Hammerstein a special Pulitzer Prize award, the highest award that can be given to anyone in the field of music, journalism and literature.
As much as it pains me to say but the real Oklahoma isn’t as harmless and fun as the one presented in the widely acclaimed musical. People with malicious intent, like sex offenders are all around Oklahoma. Most of these predators the roam free are still in search for their next victim. Until they have been brought to justice, extreme caution must be taken when dealing with these kinds of people.
