If there’s anything that I get reminded of when I think of Kansas, it’s the few notable people like James Butler “Wild Bill” Hickok, Wyatt Earp and William B. “Bat” Masterson, three legendary lawmen. Then there’s Susan Madora Salter, the first woman mayor in the USA, Kansan Hattie McDaniel, the first African-American woman to win an Academy award. Let’s not forget about Amelia Earhart, the first woman granted a pilot’s license by NAA and fly solo across the Atlantic, and of course William Purvis and Charles Wilson the inventors of the helicopter.
Yes, sir/ma’am, all these great people grew up in Kansas. It reminds me of a song that goes; I believe the children are the future…The song is old, yes, but nonetheless true.
It’s sad to say that a lot of our future is getting hurt by sex offenders and that it’s about time that we take the necessary actions to prevent that.
